The NEW Olay Regenerist Night Resurfacing Essence

Recently, P&G launched their NEW Olay Regenerist Night Resurfacing Essence.

I was really looking forward to receiving this product after reading rave reviews in many forums and sites.

Why was I so excited about it? Well, for one, it contains glycolic acid, an ingredient that has helped improve my skin texture. Back then, when my skin was super oily and problematic, I discovered a range of products with this particular ingredient that worked well with my skin condition. I only used them for a short term until my skin improved.

It is not easy finding products with this content. Not sure if it is too complicated to produce or if there needs to be more R&D before it can be sold to the public. So, to see this particular ingredient on a drugstore product is something I find very interesting. Of course, to compare it with the more expensive brands that carry glycolic acid content like Neo Strata, MD Formulations and Peter Thomas Roth, Olay has a much smaller % of glycolic acid - just 3.99% compared to some 8-10% shown on those other 3 brands. Because of this smaller percentage, they claimed that the product does not irritate skin or cause any burning/tingling sensation.

With all the right technology in their R&D, the serum is designed to work well with the body's natural process at night to gently resurface skin. Night time is when the skin is more receptive to hydration and absorption of nutrients. Hence, the skin will undergo its usual regeneration process while being fed with the right amount of moisturisers to make skin appear smoother, tight and repaired when this serum is applied.

Glycolic acid, an ingredient naturally derived from sugar cane, permeates the damaged upper layers of skin to loosen the bonds between the dead cells, increasing natural exfoliation and surface renewal. According to their press release, when applied each night, this non-greasy, fast-absorbing formula works over a normal sleep cycle to give you uninterrupted exfoliation while antioxidants and moisturisers continuously provide soothing hydration to tighten skin’s surface.

The serum is supposed to ease your skincare routine too because it replaces the need for a moisturiser. After cleansing, you can apply your usual toner or skip it altogether and simply apply the new Olay Regenerist Night Renewal Essence. I would also apply my usual eye cream and I'm done with my night skincare routine. Simple and easy.

I have been using the product for almost 3 weeks and I will tell you what I think of it in another post.

For now, if you'd like to try it out, the new Olay Regenerist Night Resurfacing Essence can be found in leading departmental stores and pharmacies nationwide, and sold at RM99.90 for a 50ml bottle.

Have you tried any of Olay's Regenerist range? I've heard of mixed reviews and would like to know if anyone else has tried the Night Resurfacing Essence.

i love the cleanser(the best cleanser for my skin so far),the night cream also works wonders for my skin. i bought microsculpting cream and serum to replace my night cream BUT unfortunately, zits started appearing after that :(.as for the serum,i cannot see any difference, but i like its texture, skin feels very soft after applying it.

hi Nore,
thanks for sharing your thoughts about the regenerist range. i guess what you mentioned is quite consistent with the many users worldwide... do you live here in Malaysia? Under our tropical climate, I am told that the cream might be too rich for the skin unless of course, the user is of a certain mature age.

i am with you on some of the effects of the serum. will probably share my thoughts on the product later this week. thanks for dropping by!
