Ayam Brand Sardines in EVOO

I was feeling sick since yesterday... I'm down with fever, my throat hurts so much and all the joints in my body ache so bad. Appetite was bad too but today, I knew I had to do something about it. I can't allow myself to wallow in my dwindling appetite and end up being so weak at the end of the day.

So, off I went to my small dedicated pantry to at least get a pack of instant noodles... until I stumbled upon this cute pack of sardines that I bought a couple of weeks ago, only because I was intrigued by its packaging ;)

front view - I was interested to check out the 'fine sardines' in healthy olive oil...

I mean, sardines in EVOO definitely spelt all things healthy :)

and... with calcium and omega 3... what else could a health-freak momma asks for, right??

the tin after its outer packaging was removed...

1 large portion + 2 medium sized ones with a piece of chilli... once this pack was opened, you could smell them sardines instantly!

I took out some bread to go with it and I must say that it does cure the lack of appetite I was experiencing. The portion is just right for one pax and it tasted pretty good. Of course, coming from a sick person who could hardly eat, you may not want to trust my judgement in taste... I do like to add though, that a sick person does need delicious food to make her keep eating. So, I guess, this one's pretty decent.

The price of this healthy can is around RM3.99 (the classic large can of sardines in tomato sauce cost RM3.89 a can)... a little bit costlier for a single-pax portion compared to one that serves 4-6 pax. However, this is certainly a healthier alternative and perfect if you're lazy to slave yourself in the kitchen :)

P/S: Apologies if I sound a little inconsiderate and disrespectful bearing that it's fasting month and here I am, talking about food and eating it. But I am sick, and have just got a surge of energy from the pack of sardines... if I don't update this now, I may not update this space for awhile. So there you go...

i have heinz tomato soup, minestrone and cream of mushroom but since i was already feeling sick, i seriously didn't want to eat all these 'soupy' stuff that would make me feel even sicker... i wanted more meaty stuff cos i was terribly weak already. thank god for this can of sardine. must buy more of them :)
